The Thin Red Line……………
What’s the famous line in the movie Backdraft, “funny thing about fireman, there always firemen”. Well I guess that is about right. It is something that gets in your blood. I have always said “it isn’t what I am, it is what I do”. It’s a job, a job that I love and feel blessed to have. I love to have things that show my pride in what I do. It isn’t just a job, I guess it is a way of life. I am a member of a unique brotherhood, I am the Thin Red Line. And I work that Thin Red Line with some of the best men and women in this great country of ours.
I don’t believe that I’m unique in the items I own that show I’m a firefighter. Of course I have shirts, statues, challenge coins and many other things. Some of these items I display in the main living area in our home in a lit cabinet. I like to have things that are understated, something that shows my pride in what I do, not just a generic Maltese cross that says “Fire Dept.” We all understand how decorations go in our homes, our wives or husbands aren’t firefighters and just don’t understand and usually don’t want that stuff in the living room…..right.
We have created a very unique item that we believe can be appreciated by anyone. It shows pride in our country and profession. It is something beautiful enough to put in the main living area in your home but would also be suited to a “man cave” or “she shed” as well.
