Firefighters and SEX……………
I’ve been in the fire service long enough to realize that all firefighters, male or female, are alike. The complaints, gripes, comradery and so on, “same circus, different clowns”. If you hang out in a fire house long enough you’ll hear somethings you probably wished you hadn’t, some crude others serious but all entertaining. Sex, there seems to always be a crude joke about sex, even though we all know we shouldn’t. It seems to turn up in our mottos or little sayings we always come up with. I mean, “Find’em Hot, Leave’em Wet”, what are we really talking about here, sex maybe? “Water, Steel and Sex Appeal” or “Give Us A Call If Your Having A Hot Time”. I love the one on an aerial I saw once, right down the side “Get It Up”, yep more sex.
Now, in all fairness not all our sayings and mottos involve a sexual undertone. There is always the “Fighting What You Fear” or Facing The Dragon” comments to fall back on, they are pretty straight forward. “First In, Last Out” and “We Put The Wet Stuff On The Red Stuff” are tried and true.
I guess we as a service have come up with these to show a lighter side, laughing at what is sometimes not the easiest job in the world, but one of the best. So I’ll guess we’ll keep coming up with them. Comment and let us know of some you use, never know. It could turn up in one of our designs.
